HILLIARD, Alvin M., age 85 of Hamilton, died Tuesday, October 16, 2007 in Hospice of Hamilton in Sunrise Assisted Living Center. He was born in Portsmouth, Ohio on February 2, 1922 the son of Daniel and Cora (Artis) Hilliard, and served in the US Navy during WWII. On February 26, 1946 in Russell, Kentucky, he married Edna Sibert. Mr. Hilliard had worked as a machine repairman for Fisher Body Hamilton Plant, for thirty-five years, retiring in 1984. He was member of the Winton Rd. Church of God and was active in charity work throughout the community.
Survivors include his wife Edna; five children, Robert Sibert, of Middletown, Virginia Martin, of Xenia, Jean Rainey, of Fairfield, Albert Hilliard, of Hamilton, and John Hilliard, of Georgia; seventeen grandchildren and the first and special granddaughter, Kim Hunker, who he called his nurse; thirty-two great grandchildren; a sister, Virginia Parman, of Xenia.
He was preceded in death by a son, Thomas Hilliard in 2004.
Funeral services will be held at 11:30am Friday in the Zettler Funeral Home, 2646 Pleasant Ave. with Rev. Ron Stewart officiating, followed by burial in Rose Hill Burial Park.
