Barbara Ann Dowling age 89 of Hamilton, Ohio passed away Friday April 17, 2026, in Hospice of Hamilton. She was born in Westfield, MA on April 30, 1936, the daughter of Leo and Marion (Therien) Shartrand. Mrs. Dowling was owner and operator of “Dogs Best Friend” and “Cats too” pet grooming salon. She was a member of St. Ann Church.

Survivors include her children, Gary (Joyce) Dowling, Claire Greene, Sherry (Maurice “Moe”) Rice, Brian (Linda) Dowling, Marsha Ritcher, Tanya (Frank) Frink, Crystal (Rob) Asher; 32 grandchildren; 34 great grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren and 2 on the way; a brother, Joseph “Joe” (Carol) Shartrand; a sister, Joanne Hall; and her dog Rosie.

Besides her parents, she was also preceded in death by 2 children, Ella Richard and Robert Dowling Jr.; 2 sisters, Linda and Dorothy; past husband, Robert Dowling Sr.; a grandson, Joshua David Dowling; a brother, Robert Shartrand.
