MENKE, Bernard, J., age 82 of Hamilton, died Thursday, January 11, 2007 in Middletown Regional Hospital. He was born in Hamilton, OH on April 16, 1924, the son of Joseph and Marie (Schomaker) Menke and was a 1941 graduate of Hamilton Catholic High School. Mr. Menke served in the US Army, during WW II. He had worked at Pease Industries for twenty years, retiring in 1989. A member of St. Ann Church he also was an avid Cincinnati Reds fan, attending opening day games, for many years, until health prevented it.
Survivors include a sister, Marilyn (Irvin) Robinson, of Middletown; thirteen nieces and nephews; numerous great and great great nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents he was also preceded in death by a brother, Joseph Menke; a sister, Virginia Sheard; brother-in-law, Howard Sheard; sister-in-law, Angela Menke.
Mass of Christian burial will be offered at 11:00AM Tuesday, in St. Ann Church, followed by burial in St. Stephen Cemetery. Visitation will be from10-11:00AM Tuesday in the church. Zettler Funeral Home, serving the family. www.zettlerfuneralhome.com
