Obituary

IMFELD, Bert C. age 89 of Hamilton passed away on Monday, August 13, 2018, at his home. He was born in Hamilton, Ohio on January 15, 1929, the son of Clem and Agnes (Cochran) Imfeld and was a 1947 graduate of Hamilton Catholic High School. Bert attended the University of Cincinnati and graduated first in his class from Chase Law School. Mr. Imfeld served in the United States Army during the Korean War. On December 2, 1950, in St. Joseph Church he married Joan M. Schawe and she preceded him in death on March 20, 2013. Mr. Imfeld practiced law with his father and brother at Imfeld, Imfeld, and Imfeld Attorneys at Law in Hamilton. He served as assistant law director for the City of Hamilton for 12 years and as acting municipal court judge for eight years. Bert was past president of the Butler County Bar Association, life member of the Elks, a 4 th Degree Knight of Columbus, and a member of the Order of the Curia at Chase Law School. He was past president of the Hamilton Exchange Club, and past president of the Board of St. Joseph Church. Mr. Imfeld volunteered in many other capacities at St. Joseph Church over the years, including calling bingo for decades and being an usher for over 50 years.

Bert's love of family defined his life. Survivors include three daughters, Jennifer (Mark) Duerinck of Naperville, IL, Lori (Gary) Becker, and Marcia (Ron) Ellis, both of Fairfield, Ohio; eight grandchildren, Caitlin, Courtney, and Michael Duerinck, Tara (Sam Chee) and Maria Becker, Patrick, Ryan, and Caroline Ellis; one great-granddaughter, Amara Joan Chee; a brother, James (Maureen) Imfeld; a sister, Eileen Donahue.

Besides his wife, Joan, he was also preceded in death by a daughter, Mary Joan, at birth; eight brothers and sisters.

The family would like to express their gratitude and appreciation to Dad's numerous devoted caregivers.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00AM Friday in St. Joseph Church, 171 Washington St, Hamilton, OH 45011, followed by Entombment in St. Stephen Cemetery Mausoleum. Visitation will be from 10-11:00AM Friday at the church.
