Obituary

RUFENER, Calvin S. age 82 of Liberty Township died Tuesday March 1, 2011 in McAllen Texas Medical Center. He was born in Hamilton, Ohio on November 11, 1928 the son of Ferdinand and Clara (Smith) Rufener and served in the US Army during the Korean War. On August 18, 2001 he married Anna M. Farno. Mr. Rufener was a life long farmer working for Hochmuth Farm in Mason, Ohio and his family farm in Liberty Township. A member of the American Legion James Ryan Post # 322 he also was a member of the Mason Grange # 1680, the Kentucky Colonels, Life member of the Antique Machinery club Ohio Valley and the Butler County Antique Machine Club.

Survivors include his wife, Anna; grandchildren, Courtney, Brian, Dean, and David Rufener, Kimberly Yates and Joe Miller; Stepchildren, Linda Yates, Susan Bishop, Vickey Gabbard, and Doug Stahlheber; seven great grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Betty Rufener.

Besides his parents he was also preceded in death by his son: Dale Rufener; his wives, Elma Belle Barnthouse Rufener, and Mary Stahlheber Rufener.

Funeral services will be held at 10am Wednesday in the Zettler Funeral Home, 2646 Pleasant Ave. with Pastor Mike Gabbard officiating, followed by burial in Rose Hill Burial Park. Visitation will be from 5-8pm Tuesday in the funeral home. Online register book available at www.zettlerfuneralhome.com
