Alvey, Carol L. died Wednesday, July 19, 2006 at 12:15 p.m. at Mercy Franciscan at Schroder Manor, Hamilton, Ohio. She was born December 23, ~, 1920 at home in Wayne Township, Somerville, Ohio. She was the oldest daughter of Earl and Edna Mae (Smith) Truster. She graduated in 1938 from West Elkton High School, in West Elkton, Ohio. After high school she attended Mercy School of Nursing but left before her last semester, at the start of WWII and went to work at Wright's Aeronautics (General Electric) She married Clyde Alvey in Liberty Indiana on November 8, 1947., After they were married she and her husband operated a dairy farm in Butler County, Ohio. Her husband, Clyde, preceded her in death, in January, 1977. She retired from Fort Hamilton Hospital where she worked on the 5 th floor as a nurses aide for 22 years. Upon her retirement she cared for several older family members and friends till their death. She is survived by one son, Richard L. Alvey of Hamilton, Ohio and his special friend Janet Burger, her grand¬daughter Schuyler Alvey, Midddtetown, Ohio brothers Eugene F. Truster, Somerville, Ohio and Donald L. Truster, Camden, Ohio and brother-in-law, Jasper Cassidy, Middletown, Ohio and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00AM Monday in the Schroder Manor Chapel. Visitation will be from 9:30AM-11:00AM Monday at the Chapel. Burial will follow in Butler County Memorial park.. Proeschel-Crawford-Zettler Funeral Home will be handling the arrangements.. In lieu of flowers donations can be given to Mercy Franciscan at Schroder Manor 1302 Millville Avenue, Hamilton, Ohio or Senior Citizens, Ross Avenue, Hamilton, Ohio. Carol was a caring, loving individual who touched the lives of many, throughout her lifetime, she will be truly missed.
