GROTHAUS, Catherine V., age 92 of Hamilton, passed away Friday, Oct. 21, 2005 in Sunrise Assisted Living Center. She was born in Cincinnati, OH on Nov. 12, 1912, the daughter of Fred and Catherine (Ebbers) Grothaus. She received her education in the Milford Township schools, graduating from Miami University with a Bachelors degree in Elementary Education, in 1933. She taught for thirty-eight years in the Butler County and Hamilton City Schools. Catherine was a member of the Butler County, and Ohio Education Associations as well as the National Education Association. A member of Zion Lutheran church, she also was a member of the Women of Zion.

Survivors include a sister and brother-in-law, Martha and Fred Schwab, of Hamilton; a devoted niece, Catherine Sue Freedman, of Cincinnati; a cousin, Charlotte Earhart.

Besides her parents; she was also preceded in death by brother, Fred Grothaus Jr., on Sept. 2, 1985.

Friends are invited to attend funeral services at 2PM Tuesday in the Proeschel-Crawford-Zettler Funeral Home, 547 Main St. with Pastor Timothy Landers officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery. There will be no visitation. Memorials are suggested to Zion Lutheran Church, 212 S. Front St. Hamilton, OH 45011.
