ENGEL, Celeste M., age 85, of Hamilton, died Thursday, August 3, 2006, in the Butler County Care Facility. She was born in Hamilton, OH on February 4, 1921, the daughter of Hubert and Stella (Theobald) Hingsbergen. On January 22, 1944, in Hamilton, she married Joseph A. Engel and he preceded her in death on November 1, 1995. Mrs. Engel had been a life member of the former St. Stephen Church and more recently had been a member of Queen of Peace Church.

Survivors include eight children, Gerald (Janet) Engel, Robert (Bev) Engel, both of Hamilton, Joseph (Arlene) Engel of Indiana, Cheryl (Barry) Ginter, of Hamilton, Karen (Bill) Kerby, of Okeana, Janice (Paul) Eichhold, Gayle (James) Anglin, both of Oxford, and Richard (Laina) Engel, of Ross; eighteen grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; a sister, Mildred King; four brothers, Firmin, Don, Melvin, and Dan Hingsbergen; a devoted brother-in-law, George Engel.

Besides her husband; she was also preceded in death by a grandson, Bo Kerby; three brothers, Merle, Hubert and Francis Hingsbergen; a sister, Betty Hebauf.

Prayers will be offered at 9:30AM Tuesday in the Zettler Funeral Home, 2646 Pleasant Ave., followed by Mass of Christian burial at 10:00AM Tuesday in Queen of Peace Church. Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-7:00PM Monday at the funeral home. The family suggests memorials be directed to the Queen of Peace Building Fund.
