Curtis A.
Howard
February 25, 1978 – October 21, 2019
HOWARD II, Curtis A. age 41 of Oxford, Ohio passed away on Monday, October 21, 2019, at University of Cincinnati Medical Center. He was born in Hamilton, Ohio on February 25, 1978, the son of Charles and Deborah (Cooper) Howard. On September 24, 2019, in Oxford, he married Nefertari Harris.
Our Curt was a true renaissance man, who never met a stranger, and imparted a spirit of consideration onto every person. His humble disposition belied his many talents; but those who knew Curt personally, remember the many layers to his wondrous soul.
There are so many examples of his adventurous and accepting nature. His study of anthropology at Miami University. His travels to places like Germany and London, the Philippines and France. His work at the Cincinnati Zoo & Botanical Gardens. Curt never met a task that he could not accomplish himself. Years of football made him as strong as he was smart, and he learned so many skills. Carpentry, masonry, smithing a forge and becoming an electrician. He put his strength and skill into building and shaping his home, and helped others do the same.
Neither lacking was his creativity. Curt was a musician, with extraordinary rhythm and tempo on the drums; the fingers of an artist on bass guitar; and an ear for unusual composition. His intellect showed, through his quick wit and unquenchable desire to learn. Just this year he completed his course in certified diving. And besides that, his mind was wrapped up in technology, social science, and philosophy.
Not only was he a multi-faceted human being, but an integral part of so many relationships. A devoted son, and nephew. A father, with constant worry as to the life he provided his sons, the lessons he could teach them, and a deep desire to raise amazing human beings. A most loving and dedicated husband. And a fantastic friend, to those who called him so.
Survivors include his wife, Neff; parents, Charles (Sheryl "Puddy") Howard, and Deborah Howard; two sons, Maxon and Kieran Howard; step-son, Liam Boyd; grandmother, Sandy Howard.
He was preceded in death by an infant sister, Christina Howard.
A Memorial Service will be celebrated at 3:00pm Sunday, November 3, 2019 at the Zettler Funeral Home, 2646 Pleasant Ave. Friends may call from 2-3:00pm Sunday in the funeral home.
