Daniel Louis Schellenbach, 82, of Fairfield, Ohio, passed away on September 29, 2026, at Hospice of Hamilton, surrounded by his loving family.

Dan was born on May 24, 1944, in Hamilton, Ohio, the son of Louis J. and Doris (Vogt) Schellenbach. As the oldest of 13 children, Dan took on responsibility at an early age. His strong work ethic and devotion to family remained important to him throughout his life.

On May 1, 1965, Dan married JoAnne Tucci at St. Veronica Church. Together, they shared 61 years of marriage and raised their four children on their family property on Tylersville Road. Family remained at the center of Dan’s life as their family grew to include 10 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.

Dan enjoyed a long career with Cincinnati Bell, retiring after 35 years of service. Throughout his life, he was known for his strong work ethic, his many practical skills, and his willingness to help family, friends, and others whenever they needed him.

Dan was a longtime member of Sacred Heart Church and the Knights of Columbus Father Butler Council. He was also an active member of the Butler County Sportsmen’s Club, where he served as both president and treasurer. Dan earned recognition as a championship marksman with the club. As a young man, Dan won the Hamilton Soap Box Derby, an accomplishment he was proud of throughout his life.

Dan is survived by his wife of 61 years, JoAnne Schellenbach; his four children, John (Christie) Schellenbach , Sue (Jerry) Rowley, Amy Schellenbach, Joe Schellenbach; his 10 grandchildren, Bradley (Erica) Rowley, Brandon (Jennifer) Rowley, Brooke (Justin) Lee, Courtney Schellenbach, Connor (Rachel) Schellenbach, Collin Schellenbach, Jacqueline Wilhelm, Jill Schellenbach, Keri Schellenbach, and Sidney Schellenbach; and his 8 great-grandchildren, Isabel, Autumn, Hudson, Asher, Eli, Andrea, Diana and Ava.

He is also survived by his brothers, Tom Schellenbach , Ed (Debbie) Schellenbach, Alan (Belinda) Schellenbach, Phillip (Donna) Schellenbach, Ted (Mari) Schellenbach; sisters, Ann (Greg) Renneker, Carol (Jim) Coggin, Mary Clare Schellenbach, Linda (Jeff) Wyler, Paula (Ace) Collett, Julie Duncan and Sister-in-Law, Marilyn Schellenbach; and many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.

Dan was preceded in death by his parents, Louis J. and Doris (Vogt) Schellenbach; his brother, Jim Schellenbach, and Brother-in-Law, Joe Perea.

Dan will be remembered as a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend. His dedication to his family, his willingness to help others, and the many relationships he built throughout his life will be remembered by all who knew and loved him.

Prayers will be offered at 9:30am Tuesday October 6, 2026 in the Zettler Funeral home, 2646 Pleasant Ave. followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM Tuesday October 6, 2026 in Sacred Heart Church 400 Nilles Road, Fairfield, Ohio.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM Monday, October 5, 2026 in the funeral home. Burial will be in St. Stephen Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Cincinnati in Dan’s memory.
