SPIVEY, Daniel K., age 63 a Hamilton, Ohio native and currently a resident of Pace, Florida, went home to be with our gracious Lord and Savior on June 8, 2008, after a courageous battle with cancer. Dan was a strong willed man who loved his family and his God. He was a faithful member of the Faith United Church of Christ, in Hamilton and more recently of Pace Community Church of Pace, Florida. Dan was a Vietnam Vet, and an avid Cincinnati Red's Fan and lived to watch Kevin Harvick race.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his wife, Sue; daughters, Barbara (John) Durham, of Monroe, Christina Spivey, of Pace, Florida; sister, Judy (Jim) Wielinga, of Hamilton; step daughters, Linda (Elbert) Lunsford, of Hamilton, Brenda (Mark) Hatmaker, of Pace, FL, Sandra (Denny) Newcomb, of Bethel, Diane (Billy) Newton, of Pace, FL, Hilda Robinson, of Pace, FL; a step son, George Pitts, of Haines City, FL; a nephew, Jimmy(Shannon) Wielinga, of West Chester; Tracy (Shawn) Wright, of Ross; and numerous grandchildren, and great grandchildren as well as cousins. Pallbearer will be John Durham, Jimmy Wielinga, Jim Wielinga, Elbert Lunsford, Billy Newton, and Jim Brandner.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Regina Spivey.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00am Friday in the Zettler Funeral Home, 2646 Pleasant Ave., with Rev. Dr. Allen Minor officiating, followed by burial with military honors in Butler County Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 10-11:00am Friday in the funeral home.
