Dan L. Cisle of Hamilton, OH born May 20, 1947, passed away peacefully at his home in Jacksonville, FL on April 24, 2026, surrounded by loved ones. Dan lived a full and active life defined by his passion for sports, distinguished career, and his deep love for family.
A graduate of Ross High School, Dan was a standout athlete competing in baseball, football, and golf. His talent on the golf course earned him a scholarship to Indiana State University where he graduated with a degree in Geology. Golf remained a lifelong passion, and Dan continued to compete at a prominent level for many years, highlighted by winning the coveted Hamilton City Golf Championship in 1985. Beyond his own athletic ability, he was a devoted fan of the Reds, Bengals, and the OSU Buckeyes.
Dan built a successful career in the aggregate industry (American Materials/Martin Marietta) where he served as an Area Sales Manager. He was highly respected for his leadership, strong work ethic, and commitment to excellence. His career began in OH and led him to Columbia, SC before finally settling in Jacksonville, FL where he retired in 2012.
He recently celebrated 35 years of marriage with his beloved wife, Tonya Cisle. They embraced an active lifestyle in FL and shared a love of golf, trips on their motorcycles, boating, fishing, and playing cards. Dan was also a gifted storyteller who loved teaching others and sharing his knowledge, leaving a lasting impression on everyone who knew him.
Dan is survived by his loving wife, Tonya Cisle; his daughter, Shannon (John) Kopelousos; his son AJ (Shelby) Buschur; and his grandchildren, Maverick Glover, Korbyn Buschur and Ollie Buschur. He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter D Cisle and Jean A Cisle of Hamilton, OH and his grandson, Fox Glover.
Dan will be remembered for his competitive spirit, his epic storytelling, and the generous way he shared his wisdom, knowledge, and expertise with others. His legacy lives on through his family and the many lives he touched.
Funeral services will be held Monday, May 4, 2026 in the Zettler Funeral Home, 2646 Pleasant Ave. followed by burial in Millville Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10:30am to 11:00am in the funeral home. Online register book at www.zettlerfuneralhome.com
