CARR, David Samuel died at the age of 50 from natural causes on May 16, 2017, at his home in Fairfield, Ohio. He was the loving son of Dr. James and Anne Carr of Hamilton, Ohio, who preceded him in death. After graduating from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, David was a longtime health and physical education teacher in the Hamilton public school system. He was also a youth leader at the Butler County Juvenile Justice Center for several years. As a youngster, David was in constant motion and excelled in a wide range of athletic endeavors. He was an All-America gymnast at Miami and a standout wrestler at Hamilton High School. He also won numerous awards on the New London Hills Club diving team. David gave back to the community through his lengthy association with the Butler County Red Cross, where he was a lead CPR instructor. In 1998, he earned the Red Cross "Help Can't Wait" Award after performing CPR to save a man's life. He is survived by his brother, James Carr of West Hartford, Conn., sister, Katherine Christen, PhD, of Hamilton, her husband, Keith Christen, and their children, Chloe, Carson and Carly Christen.
