Obituary

MARCUM, Delbert Faris, age 85 of Hamilton, died early Monday morning, July 2, 2007 in Vitas Hospice in Ft. Hamilton Hospital. He was born in Hamilton, Ohio on May 11, 1922, the son of John Duggin and Mackephie (Murphy) Marcum. On January 30, 1943, he married Rose Lee Agee. Delbert worked, for a time, at the Estate Stove Co., and in 1956 began work as a custodian for Fairfield City School District, retiring in 1984. He loved to fish and be outdoors. He enjoyed telling his family about his childhood, how he helped his Dad shoe horses, and his memories of the Great Depression.

Survivors include his wife, Rose; two sons, David (Cory) Marcum, and Darryl Marcum; three daughters, Joyce (R. D.) Hollandsworth, Linda (Ronald) Wyatt, and Jane (Skip) Anderson Spahni; seventeen grandchildren; thirty-four great grandchildren; and seven great great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; one special nephew with whom he grew up, Albert Marcum.

Delbert was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers; and three sisters.

He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00pm Thursday in the Zettler Funeral Home, 2646 Pleasant Ave., with Pastor Wendell Coning officiating, followed by burial in Rose Hill Burial Park. Visitation will be from 1-2:00pm Thursday in the funeral home. Online register book at www.zettlerfuneralhome.com
