Obituary

DEARDORFF, Donald J. age 81 of Hamilton died Wednesday, August 18, 2010, at Hospice of Hamilton. He was born in Fargo, North Dakota on September 19, 1928, the son of Roy and Alice (Staudenraus) Deardorff, and was a 1946 graduate of Dayton Chaminade. On July 30, 1949, in Dayton, Ohio he married Lehrine Wade. Donald was a veteran who served in the United States Army. He was a draftsman for Mosler Safe Co for twenty-five years retiring in 1985. Mr. Deardorff was a member of Queen of Peace Church, the Bereavement Committee, the Choir, and was a member of Izaak Walton.

Survivors include his wife, Lehrine; seven children, Mary Jo (Tom) Graham, Philip (Connie) Deardorff, Julia Duncan, Kathleen (Steve) Smith, Steven Deardorff, Dennis (Beverly) Deardorff, Timothy (Terri) Deardorff; eighteen grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren; two brothers, Deacon Roy Deardorff and Leon Deardorff; a sister, Arlene Stone.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10:30am Saturday in Queen of Peace Church with Fr. Jeff Bacon celebrant, followed by entombment in St. Stephen Mausoleum. Visitation will be from 9:30-10:30am Saturday at the church. Memorials are suggested to Hospice of Hamilton or Queen of Peace School. Online register book available at www.zettlerfuneralhome.com
