BENDIX, Dorothy, age 89 of Fairfield, died Thursday August 20, 2009 in Parkside Nursing Home. She was born in Hamilton, Ohio on July 29, 1920 the daughter of George and Pearl (Grote) Fritzsche, and was a 1938 graduate of Notre Dame High School. In 1938, she married Andrew Miller, and he preceded her in death on January 19, 1981. On April 4, 1986, she married Elmer Bendix. Dorothy was a charter member of Sacred Heart Church, enjoyed card clubs, and bingo.

Survivors include her husband, Elmer; two daughters, Janet (Robert) Pierson of Batesville, Indiana, Sandy (Gary) Hundley of Fairfield; two sons, Barry (Stella) Miller of Fairfield, Andrew (Cindy) Miller Jr. of Grapevine, Texas; two step-daughters, Stanla Weissinger, Sheila Miller; twenty-one grandchildren; fifty-five great-grandchildren; five great-great grandchildren; a sister, Mary Doehlman.

Besides her first husband Andrew, she was also preceded in death by a daughter Veronica Miller who died at birth, and a stepson, Vincent Bendix.

The family would like to thank the staff and care givers of Parkside Nursing Home and Hospice for the exceptional service and care rendered over the past months.

Prayers will be offered at 1:30 pm Monday in the Zettler Funeral Home, 2646 Pleasant Ave., followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 2:00 pm Monday in Sacred Heart Church.
