KNIPPER, Dorothy Jo at the age 88, enjoyed a glorious Heavenly reunion on January 27, 2017. The last in her family to ascend into Heaven, Dorothy has joined those who preceded her including her Mother Zona Cramer; Step-Father Harry Cramer; Father Wallace Greer; Brothers Richard and Wallace Greer; Step-Brothers Don, Bud, and Dick Cramer. In addition, she has been reunited with her Husband Howard Knipper.
She leaves her son W. Dean Langevin (Roni Johnson-Langevin); four grandchildren, Chris and Amber Langevin, Kevin and Ashlee Botkins; a great-grandson, Logan Doehlman.
Dorothy, or Dottie as she was known to friends, was born on May 25, 1928. Noted for her generous exchange of hugs to friends and family, Dorothy was also known for crocheting butterfly refrigerator magnets and well more than 350 Afghans over the years for Hospice of Hamilton, where she passed away after a brief battle with pneumonia, complicated by a myriad of other health issues. She was quick to tell friends that her greatest achievement in life was raising her son, in whom she expressed great pride. Until mobility issues restricted her to home, Dottie was an avid bowler and a proud member of Park Avenue United Methodist Church.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00PM Thursday, February 2, 2017, in the Zettler Funeral Home, 2646 Pleasant Ave. with Pastor Samuel Harnish of Park Avenue United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1-2:00PM Thursday in the funeral home.
