KURTZ, Dorothy K. (nee Gailey) age 97a resident of Berkeley Square passed away Thursday, March 22, 2012. She was born in Hamilton, Ohio on June 1, 1914, the daughter of Joseph P. and Elizabeth (Sinner) Gailey. Mrs. Kurtz attended Hamilton Public Schools and the Butler County Business College. On August 25, 1951, she married Earl G. Kurtz and he preceded her in death on March 29, 1984. Mrs. Kurtz worked for the Ohio State School for Deaf teaching lip reading before hearing aids were developed. She was also employed at Ohio Casualty for 29 ½ years in the Controller's department. She was a lifetime member of the Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church.

Survivors include a step-daughter, Lynn Kurtz; a step-grandson, David A. Kurtz; a step-granddaughter, Annie Kurtz; a step great-grandson, David A. Kurtz; nephews, Gene Nuxhall and his children, Patty Dobro, Elaine Glendening, and Melissa Nix; Don (Myra) Nuxhall and their children, Marty Nuxhall, Jody Mueller, and Kelly Nuxhall; nieces, Donzetta Nuxhall and her children, Phillip Nuxhall and Kim (Bonnie) Nuxhall; Patricia Nuxhall and her children, Debra (Brian) Nagel, Shauna Nuxhall, Lori (Michael) Cox, and Erin (Ron) Robinson; great-niece, Pam (Rick) Burbridge and their children, Jennifer and JaShawna; other survivors include numerous great nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.

Besides her parents and husband, Earl, she was also preceded in death by a brother, Robert J. Gailey; sister-in-law, Vera Gailey; three sisters, Helen K. Kendall, Evelyn Bising, and Naomi M. Purdy; three nephews, Charles Gailey, Joe and Robert Nuxhall; a step-grandson, Robert Kurtz; a niece Dorothy Slade.

Private family services will be held at the Zettler Funeral Home with Rev. Daniel Snider officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery.
