LUFF, Dorothy M. age 94, of Hamilton, died Monday, March 3, 2014 at Hospice of Cincinnati. She was born in Hamilton, Ohio on January 5, 1920 the daughter of William H. and Mary (Rauch) Wellinghoff and was a 1938 graduate of Notre Dame High School. In 1947, she married Lawrence Allen Luff, and he preceded her in death on March 1, 2001. Dorothy had worked as a nurses aid at Mercy Hospital of Hamilton from 1969-1981. A member of St. Julie Billiart Parish, she also was a member of the Altar Rosary Society.
Survivors include her eight children, Phil (JoAnn), Steven (Ruth), Larry (Barb), Michael (Karen), David (Lucy), and Jeff (Linda) Luff, Kathy (Bob Appenzeller) and Eileen Luff; eighteen grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
Besides her husband, Allen, she was also preceded in death by a grandson, Sergeant David Luff Jr.; two brothers, Bernard and William Wellinghoff; seven sisters, Ceil Robinson, Neil Wolpert, Clarice Wellinghoff, Ruth Maybury, Mary Ann, Cornelia, and Margaret Wellinghoff.
Prayers will be offered at 9:30AM Saturday in the Zettler Funeral Home, 2646 Pleasant Ave. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00AM Saturday in St. Julie Billiart Church. Burial will be in St. Stephen Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-7:00PM Friday in the funeral home.
