Obituary

WIMMERS, Dorothy A. age 95 of Hamilton passed away on Wednesday, January 17, 2018, at Berkeley Square Retirement Community after a 10 year battle with Alzheimers. She was born in Hamilton, Ohio on March 17, 1922, the daughter of Harry and Frances (Mengelkamp) Herbers, and was a 1940 graduate of Hamilton High School. On September 1, 1947, in St. Peter in Chains Church she married Maurice E. Wimmers Jr. and he preceded her in death on December 12, 2013. Dorothy was a lifetime member of St. Peter in Chains Church, the Altar Rosary Society, and was a volunteer at the church.

Survivors include eight children, Nancy (James) Addler, Rosemary (Bill) Huffman, Steven (Elizabeth Barron) Wimmers, Rebecca Kirkpatrick, Noel (Rodney) Lintner, John (Cynthia) Wimmers, Greg Wimmers, and Amy (David) Schiavone; nineteen grandchildren; twenty-eight great-grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren; a sister, Joan Eckert; a brother, Paul Herbers; numerous nieces and nephews.

Besides her husband, Maurice, she was also preceded in death by a brother, LeRoy Herbers; four sisters, Rita Bruck, Julia Hoelle, Mary Goins, and Lucille Geier.

The family would like to thank the staff at Berkley Square and Hospice of Cincinnati for the loving care they provided to Dorothy.

Prayers will be offered at 9:30AM Monday in the Zettler Funeral Home, 2646 Pleasant Ave. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00AM Monday in St. Peter in Chains Church, 451 Ridgelawn Ave. Burial will be in St. Stephen Cemetery.
