Dottie L. Hilsmier

Family meant the world to Dottie. Thus, she built for us a very beautiful one. It is with a glad heart we bid farewell to a loving wife, as well as devoted mother and grandmother. Dorothy Louise Hilsmier passed peacefully on January 23rd, 2024.

Dottie was born, December 26th, 1945, to a challenging life filled with passion and dedication. Her bold endeavors forged a career, rising from administrative positions into a rewarding travel agency. Later, Dottie founded Scooter's Pub, which she then embraced as her own, Dottie's Bar & Grille.

It was there she found her fondest love and married Thomas Hilsmier in 1998.

Dottie is survived by her devoted husband, Thomas, her four children; Stephen, Gary, Joanne, and Melanie, as well as over twelve cherished grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. Her genuine compassion was obvious to those lives she touched, both friends and strangers alike. Her presence will be deeply missed. She will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.

Community Christian Church will host a celebration of Dottie's life on Saturday, Feb. 3rd at 4PM. In lieu of flowers, honor her memory with donations to TheOneWayFarm.org.
