Obituary

BRUCE, Elmer Donald "Don" age 96 of Hamilton passed away on Tuesday, February 7, 2017, at Vitas Hospice at the Drake Center. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Carl Bruce. Survivors include two sisters, Loraine Raible and Mary Stewart; two nieces; three nephews.

Don retired from Fifth Third Bank as Head of the Shipping Department. He had a lifelong love of music. He played the piano, saxophone, violin, and clarinet. He was a member of the Hamilton High School Band and the Hamilton Symphony Orchestra. Twenty years ago, he and other musicians formed the Over the Hill Gang which played for Senior Citizens. Don Joined the United States Navy at the beginning of World War II. He served until the end of the war. Don was a member of the Masonic Lodge, the VFW and the Lindenwald Methodist Church. He had a cottage on Indian Lake where he loved to spend time with family and friends.

A private memorial service will be held at a later date at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery. Online condolences can be made at www.zettlerfuneralhome.com
