Obituary

Bryce Bigham age 25 of Fairfield, Ohio passed away Friday December 8, 2023 at his home. He was born in Hamilton, Ohio on April 6, 1998 the son of Eric and Angela (Burkart) Bigham. Bryce was a 2016 graduate of Fairfield High School and earned an associate degree from Miami University. He was a member of St. Ann Church. An employee of Miami University Hamilton Campus, he worked in the Student I.T. department.

Most people know Bryce for being the nicest and most positive kid/young man you could ever meet and for his vast knowledge of just about everything, especially history. In the second grade he was featured in the Journal News and interviewed on the radio for a presentation he gave about his knowledge of history and the Presidents.

Bryce went to St Ann's school before transferring to Fairfield. He continued his time at St Ann's church as a lector and faithful catholic. He attended Miami University where he worked part time as IT support. He was in his last year working towards a Bachelor's degree when he was diagnosed with stage 4 gastric cancer.

Some of his fondest memories were his times at St. Ann's; playing with his siblings and cousins in his grandparent's backyard; canoeing and riding bikes with his grandfather; laughing with his grandmother; going to the zoo, Hueston Woods, the art museum, and the history museum with his family; playing video games with his friends; and visiting his friends in Chicago. Bryce was fortunate to travel to New York City with his aunt, Chicago with his friends, Alaska with his grandfather and aunt, and Las Vegas and Bryce Canyon, the Grand Canyon, and Arches and Zion's National Parks with his family.

In 2021 he began his long valiant battle with cancer. During this time, he always stayed positive and even comforted others. He never lost his love of knowledge and his commitment to family and friends. He was loved by all including his amazing nurses who he was a favorite patient of. He was so positive and enjoyed learning about the hospital equipment and meeting the nurses and doctors. He impressed his doctors with his positive attitude and will to live. His final days were painful but he remained strong in his faith, stayed positive, and even comforted those around him. He passed away peacefully with his family at his side on December 8th, the Feast of the Immaculate Conception.

Survivors include his parents, Eric, and Angela Bigham; sister, Alexandria Bigham; brother, Max Bigham; grandmother, Joan Burkart, and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and cherished friends.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, John Burkart, Barb and Jerry Bigham; an uncle, Jeff Bigham; and his great grandmother, Joycelyn Burkart.
