STANIFER, Ethel O. age 84 of Hamilton passed away on Friday, February 1, 2019, at Hospice of Hamilton. She was born in Harlan County, Kentucky on November 30, 1934, the daughter of Clarence and Carrie (Fields) Johnson. On September 18, 1954, in Hamilton she married William Stanifer and he preceded her in death on May 7, 2015. Ethel was head cashier for Albers Grocery Store from 1954-1974. She later worked for Ohio Casualty from 1974 until retirement in 1994. Mrs. Stanifer was a member of St. Mark United Methodist Church.

Survivors include her daughter, Ruth A. Stanifer; two grandchildren, Kristina Stanifer and Brandon William (Erin) Stanifer; a great-grandson, Connor William Stanifer; a brother, Homer (Gina) Johnson; five sisters, Iva (Darrell) Willis, Flo (Jack) Gill, Mary Johnson, Reba (Bob) Burnette, and Wilma (Geoff) Lucken; many nieces and nephews.

Besides her husband, William, she was also preceded in death by three brothers and four sisters.

Funeral services will be held at 4:00pm Wednesday at St. Mark United Methodist Church, 4601 Fairfield Ave. Fairfield, Ohio. Visitation will be from 2-4:00PM Wednesday at the church. Memorial donations may be made to St. Mark's United Methodist Church or Hospice of Hamilton.  Zettler Funeral Home is serving the family.
