Sandlin
December 5, 1932 – February 6, 2023
Sandlin, Foister age 90, of Hamilton, passed away in his home Monday, February 6, 2023. He was born in Perry County, Kentucky on December 5, 1932, the son of Ervine and Rachel (Barger) Sandlin Gross. Foister served in The United States Navy during the Korean War before employment at the Pillsbury Corporation and Hamilton Tool from where he later retired. Foister was an avid outdoorsman. He loved hunting and fishing and was a lifetime member of the NRA and Bass Anglers Sportsman Society. On August 8, 1958, he married the love of his life Nancy (Ingram) Sandlin.
Foister is survived by his grandson Jason Combs (Jen) of Hamilton who cared for him up until the time of his passing; granddaughters Kimberly Combs and Sarah Gardiner of Hamilton; siblings, Lillie Robinson and Ford Sandlin of Hamilton and Bobby Sandlin of Perry County KY and many other grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Ervine and Rachel, his wife Nancy, daughter Vickey Gardiner, two sons, Rickey and Glenn Ratliff, siblings, William, Garfield, Delbert, Homer and Mary Strong, and very special niece Candace Robinson.
A visitation will be held at Zettler Funeral Home located at 2646 Pleasant Ave on Monday, February 13, 2023, from 1:00-2:00pm followed by a funeral service at 2:00pm. Directly following, a Military honors service will take place at Rose Hill Burial Park located at 2565 Princeton Rd. In Lieu of flowers please make donations to Hospice of Hamilton
