VERDIN, Frances Lee age 73 of Fairfield died Thursday, August 13, 2009. She was born on October 14, 1935 to Gordon and Idah (Blatt) Lotz, and a 1953 graduate of Hamilton High. On November 20, 1954 in St. Ann Church, she was united in marriage to Harold A. Verdin, and he preceded her in death on August 17, 1996. Frances continued being acting in Mostow, Inc., her deceased husband's company, and was a member of Sacred Heart Church.
She leaves behind her daughter, Melanie (Greg) Buddo; her sons, Michael (Violet) Verdin, and Douglas Verdin. Also surviving are her sisters, Lois Upton-Werder and Jennifer McGinnis, and brothers, Thomas (Pat), Loren and Terry Lotz. She is survived by her grandchildren Nicolle (Joe) Swiatkowski, Nicklas (Sara) Buddo, Matthew (Stephanie) Buddo, Jamison (Deanna) Verdin, Melissa (Bill) Hampton, Jeffrey Verdin, Donnie Pingleton, Dawn Smith, and Joshua McGinnis. She is survived by her great-grandchildren, whom she enjoyed tremendously, Gracie and Tyler Verdin, Kellan Hampton, Morgan and Mackenzie Buddo, Logan Buddo, Allison and Olivia Swiatkowski. She is also survived by the long lunch with the ladies group.
Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Gregory Jon Verdin.
Funeral services will be held at 11:30am Thursday in the Zettler Funeral Home, 2646 Pleasant Ave., with Fr. Larry Tharp officiating, followed by entombment in St. Stephen Mausoleum. Visitation will be from 10:30-11:30 am Thursday at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to Hospice of Cincinnati, the American Heart Association, or the American Cancer Society.
