FONTAINE, Frank E., 85 of Hamilton, passed away on April 9, 2018. He was born in Hamilton, Ohio on September 17, 1932, the son of Alfred T. and Josephine (Hauss) Fontaine. He was educated at St. Ann Catholic School and was a 1950 graduate of Hamilton Catholic High School. Frank enjoyed various sports dancing and tennis, but had fond memories of hunting, fishing and making models with his dad. On August 14, 1953, in St. Ann Chapel, he married the love of his life, Therese (Tess) Kroeger who preceded him in death on February 27, 2009. From this marriage seven children were born. He served in the army (1954 – 1962) during the Korean Conflict . He coached football, Little League and basketball. He was a life time member of St. Ann Catholic Church. Frank was a tool and die maker at Fisher Body from where he retired. He was owner of Fontaine Home Insulation retiring in 2011. He enjoyed playing cards with his family and friends, bowling, racing horses and time spent with friends in Rising Sun, Indiana and most importantly his family. He was a member of St. Ann PAC, Knights of Columbus #968, B.P.O.E Elks, American Legion and the D.A.V. Of the many different positions Frank achieved in his life, the greatest of these was "Husband and Dad."
Survivors include his children, Mary Jo (Pryce) Moore, Jim Fontaine, Rita Fontaine, Frank Fontaine (Kim Devon), Donald (Connie) Fontaine, Ted (Libby) Fontaine, Tess Fontaine; sixteen grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; sister Mary Jo (Tom) Shannon, brothers Jack Fontaine, Tom (Janet Leach) Fontaine, sister-in-law Carolyn Fontaine, numerous nieces, nephews, many other relatives and friends.
He is preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Tess, his parents, his step-father, J. Donald Judge, his wife's parents, and his brother Jim.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the personnel at Tri-County Extended Care Center and Hospice of Cincinnati.
Visitation will be from 6 – 8:00 pm, Friday, April 13, 2018 at Zettler Funeral Home, 2646 Pleasant Ave. Prayers will be offered at 10:00 am at the funeral home followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 am on Saturday, April 14, 2018 at St. Ann Church with Fr. Larry Tharp, celebrant. Entombment will be in St. Stephen Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers memorials are suggested to the St. Ann Church Capital Fund, 646 Clinton Avenue, Hamilton, OH.
