GRIFFIN, Frank S. 86, passed away December 23, 2018 at Hospice of Hamilton. He was born on June 17, 1932 in Columbus, OH and recently moved to Hamilton. He retired as Manager of Microbiology for Mt. Carmel-St. Ann's Hospitals in Columbus. He also was Microbiologist for The Ohio State University Student Center and St. Anthony Hospital Columbus. He graduated from The Ohio State University, and served in the US Army and Army Reserve. Frank umpired softball leagues (B.A.T.) for 25 years at Berliner and Hilliard fields where he was only known as "Grif". He was honored to be elected to the Columbus Softball Hall of Fame and has his name inscribed on the honorary wall at Berliner Park.

He was preceded in death by parents Frank and Edith (Ranie) Griffin. Survived by wife, Jeanne Degley Griffin, son Frank B. and daughter Cindy Bilbrey (Sam) both of Columbus, Oh, step daughters Debra Cook (Virgil), Denise Gray, both of Hamilton, OH, Andrea Valle of Irvine, CA., 11 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. He enjoyed cooking, disco dancing, travel overseas and bridge. Cremation is being handled by Zettler Funeral Home, Hamilton, Ohio, services are private.
