JONES, Fred age 93 of Hamilton, died Wednesday, May 18, 2011, in Hospice of Hamilton. He was born in Hamilton, Ohio on June 9, 1917, the son of Fred J. and Ruth (Ruwe) Jones. Mr. Jones graduated from Middletown High School in 1937 and attended the University of Cincinnati. On November 14, 1942 in St. Mary Church in Hamilton he married Dorothy M. Jones. Mr. Jones served in the United States Army during WWII and he received a Purple Heart and Bronze Star. Fred worked as a superintendent of Carl J. Conradt & Son Construction retiring in 1980. He was a member of St. Peter Church, the American Legion Post # 218 in Middletown, the VFW Post # 1069, the D.A.V., and was a longtime member of the Carpenters Union Local 113.
Survivors include his wife, Dorothy; three children, Barbara (Frank) Munafo, Ruth Elaine Daddabbo, all of Liberty Township and Thomas A. Jones of Hamilton; five grandchildren, Matthew (Kimberly), Ryan (Meg), and Joe (Christy) Munafo, Christopher (Shelley), and Jonathan (Sarah) Daddabbo; eight great-grandchildren, Isabelle, Frankie, Rosalie, and Zachary Munafo, James, Emma, Elaina, and Dominic Daddabbo.
He was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Joseph G. Daddabbo MD.
Prayers will be offered at 10:30am Monday in the Zettler Funeral Home, 2646 Pleasant Ave., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00am Monday in St. Peter in Chains Church with Fr. Ronald C. Haft celebrant. Burial will be in Rose Hill Burial Park. Visitation will be from 9:30-10:30am Monday in the funeral home.
