Van Doren, Gene L. "Geno", age 73, of Hamilton, died Saturday, June 16, 2007 at his home. He was born in Hamilton, Ohio on May 8, 1934, the son of Raymond and Isabelle (List) Van Doren. On April 6, 1956, in Richmond, Indiana, he married Dorothy Brewer. Mr. Van Doren had worked as an auto body repair and painter for Rockenfield Ford, John Nolan Ford, and Emil's Body shop, retiring in 1992.
He was an avid NASCAR fan. Survivors include his wife, Dorothy; two daughters, Ruth (Dan Werner) Webb Van Doren, of Hamilton, and Darla Hunt (Ronald) Moore, of West College Corner, Indiana; six grandchildren, Nelson (Christina) Webb III, Kevin and Donald Webb, Damara and Derek Hunt, and Tyler Moore; six great grandchildren, Kayla, Breanna and Ricky Webb, Dillon Webb, Iris and Donovan Samelak; three brothers, Raymond (Charlene) Van Doren, of Hamilton, Lewis "Fritz" (Frances) Van Doren, and David (Glenda) Van Doren, both of Florida; many cousins; nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was also preceded in death by twin brother, Lloyd Gene Van Doren.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00pm Friday, in the Zettler Funeral Home, 2646 Pleasant Ave., with David Miller officiating, followed by burial in Rose Hill Burial Park. Visitation will be from 12noon-2:00pm Friday in the funeral home. Online register book at www.zettlerfuneralhome.com
