SCHWARTZ, George E. "Gene" age 87 of Fairfield passed away on Saturday, April 7, 2018, at his home. He was born in Hamilton, Ohio on August 1, 1930, the son of Emil and Elizabeth (Puckett) Schwartz and was a 1948 graduate of Hamilton Catholic. Mr. Schwartz was a veteran of the United States Army.  On October 17, 1953, in St. Mary Church he married Dolores Heichelbech and she preceded him in death on October 26, 2014. Gene worked as a machinist for Western States Machines. He was a member of Sacred Heart Church.

Survivors include seven children, Tim (Marilyn) Schwartz, Tom (Charlotte) Schwartz, Anita (Bart) Ruoff, Karen (Dave) Chasteen, Steve (Phyllis) Schwartz, Kenny (Carolyn) Schwartz, and Linda (Brian) Lester; sixteen grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren;

Besides his wife, Dolores, he was also preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Joseph E. Schwartz.

Prayers will be offered at 9:30am Friday in the Zettler Funeral Home, 2646 Pleasant Ave. followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00am Friday in Sacred Heart Church with Fr. Larry Tharp celebrant.
