Obituary

SMITH, George C., age 86 of Fairfield, Oh , died Monday September 10, 2007 in Hospice of Hamilton in Sunrise Assisted Living Center. He was born in Hamilton, OH on January 1, 1921 the son of Green and Flora (Culton) Smith. Mr. Smith earned a BS. Degree in Arts from Miami University and a Juris Doctor from Salmon P. Chase Law School. He served in the US Army Aircorp during WWII, as a staff sergeant, with the 4th Air Depot Group in the South Pacific. He retired from the National Lead Co of Ohio, as director of personnel and industrial relations. A member of the Ben Franklin Mason Lodge, he also was a member of the Ohio Bar Association. He enjoyed time spent with close friends at the 4 F club and the VFW # 1069. George's greatest joy in life was to make others laugh and smile.

Survivors include a son Dave and wife Sue Smith; closest and dearest friend and companion, Terry Kueltzo; a grandson, Dave and wife Elizabeth Smith Jr., all of Fairfield; two nieces, Kristina Lumsden, of AZ, and Angie Black, of Hamilton; two great nieces and a great nephew.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley (Whisman) Smith in January of 1975; his parents; three sisters, Pearl Dowden, Helen Smith, and Evelyn Hammons.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00am Saturday in the Zettler Funeral Home, 2646 Pleasant Ave., with Rev Curtus Moak officiating, followed by entombment in Rosehill Mausoleum. Visitation will be from 5-7:00pm Friday in the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to Hospice of Hamilton. Online register book at www.zettlerfuneralhome.com
