Obituary

WELLS, George R. "Sonny", age 79 of Fairfield TWP, died Sunday, July 29, 2007 at Hospice of Hamilton in Sunrise Assisted Living. He was born in Cincinnati, Ohio on November 1, 1927, the son of George G. and Myrtle (Cullen) Wells, and served in the US Navy during WWII and the Korean War. On August 7, 1965 in Virginia Beach, Virginia, he married Vonny Mock, a marriage of forty-two years. Mr. Wells was a firefighter for the City of Cincinnati Fire Department, for twenty-nine years, retiring in 1980. A member of St. Julie Billiart Parish, he also was an active member of the East Butler Co. YMCA, the retired Firefighters Association, and volunteered at the Cincinnati Fire Museum.

Survivors include his wife, Vonny; five children Ron (Karen) Mock, Henry (Terry) Mock, Gary (Ann) Mock, Darris (Scott) Bohman, and Kelley Raschke; ten grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; a sister, Lois Fox; a brother, Harry Wells.

Besides his parents. He was also preceded in death by a brother Norman Wells.

Prayers will be offered at 9:30am Thursday in the Zettler Funeral home 2646 Pleasant Ave, followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 10am Thursday in St Julie Billiart Church. Visitation will be from 6-8pm Wednesday in the funeral home. Burial will be in St. Joseph New Cemetery, Cincinnati, OH. The family suggests memorials to the Fireman's Protective Association, P.O.
