Obituary

Hester, Gladys V. age 89 of Trenton, Ohio died Monday, September 10, 2012 in Hawthorne Glen Nursing Home. She was born in Bevis, Ohio on October 7, 1922, the daughter of Robert and Sally (Tolley) Snodgrass and was a 1940 graduate of Fairfield High School. On December 23, 1942, in Boca Raton, Florida she married Robert P. Hester and he preceded her in death on July 1, 1998. Mrs. Hester and her late husband, Bob, operated a Dairy and Grain farm for forty years, and later Gladys worked as a secretary and office manager for Miter Masonry until retiring in 1991. She was a member of Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church in Trenton, an avid Cincinnati Reds Baseball fan, and enjoyed playing cards with friends and family.

Survivors include three children, Stephen (Sharon) Hester, Susan (Robert) Kennel, and Donna (Donna Dunaway) Hester; five grandchildren, Michelle Miller, Michael (Jamie) Hester, Miranda (Jon) Habig, Joshua (Dana) and Julie Kennel; twelve great-grandchildren; two sisters, Thelma Ganoung and Sally Owens; two sisters-in-law, Ruth Muskopf and Jeanine Brunner.

Besides her husband, Robert, she was also preceded in death by two sisters, Rowena Stare and Juanita Knorr; three brothers, Donald, Robert Jr., and Warren Snodgrass.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 9:30 am Thursday in the Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church in 222 Hamilton Ave. Trenton, Ohio, followed by burial in St. Mary Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6-8:00 pm Wednesday in the Zettler Funeral Home, 2646 Pleasant Ave. Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Dayton or the Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church.
