Obituary

TAGGART, Gordon Jr., age 82 of Hamilton, Ohio died Thursday, May 8, 2014, at Hospice of Hamilton. He was born in Hamilton on October 18, 1931, the son of Gordon and Mildred (Sweney) Taggart and was a 1949 graduate of Hanover High School. Mr. Taggart was a veteran of the United States Air Force. On June 15, 1957, in Fairfield, Ohio he married Laverne A. Baker and she preceded him in death on October 13, 1989. Gordon was the plant manager at Martin Lingler Company, Riverside Brick and Block Company, retiring from Wilson Brick and Block in 1992. He was a member of the committee that built the veterans park in Hanover Township, and American Legion Post # 199, Harrison, Ohio.

Survivors include a son, Michael B. (Jacqueline) Taggart of Hanover Township; three grandchildren, Nicki Keene, Catherine Stringer, and John Mick; five great-grandchildren; two sisters, Florence McCarty and Laverne Willis; three brothers, Melvin (Aretta) Taggart, Frank (Violet) Taggart, and Clarence "Tim" (Jeanie) Taggart.

Besides his wife, Laverne, he was also preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Arthur and Robert Taggart.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:00AM Wednesday in the Zettler Funeral Home, 2646 Pleasant Ave. with Rev. Edwin R. Beck officiating, followed by burial in Millville Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-8:00PM Tuesday in the funeral home. The family suggests memorials donations be made to Hospice of Hamilton, 1010 Eaton Ave. Hamilton, Ohio 45013.
