BROSIER, Gretchen L. age 94 of Hamilton passed away Monday, October 3, 2011, at Tri County Extended Care. She was born in Hamilton, Ohio on April 2, 1917, the daughter of Joseph and Katherine (Zettler) Meister, and was a 1935 Graduate of Notre Dame High School. On May 29, 1943 she married Hugh D. Brosier and he preceded her in death on October 1, 2010. Mrs. Brosier was a member of St. Joseph Church, and had been a volunteer for many years at Mercy Hospital in Hamilton.
Survivors include her three daughters, Martha (David) Bach, of Hamilton, Claire Shockey of Dayton, OH, and Mary (Steve) Beckman, of Hamilton; eight grandchildren; seventeen great grandchildren; two sisters, Dorothy Kiesewetter and Betty Ann Koeppel.
Besides her husband, Hugh, she was also preceded in death by a sister, Mary Katherine Coyle; a brother, Louis J. Meister.
Hugh was the love of her life and best friend for sixty-seven years. They enjoyed music, dancing, and camping. All remember her delicious homemade foods, especially her goetta, split pea soup, pies , and cinnamon rolls. She loved to crochet Afghans for all her grandchildren and baby caps for the nursery at Mercy Hospital in Hamilton. Gretchen will be remembered for her strong faith and love for all her family.
Prayers will be offered at 10:30am Thursday in the Zettler Funeral Home, 2646 Pleasant Ave., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am Thursday in St. Ann Church, with Fr. Stephen Mondiek celebrant. Visitation will be from 9:30-10:30 am Thursday in the funeral home. Burial will be in Oxford Cemetery.
