Obituary

Helen E. Globig (Burns) went to be with our Lord on September 17, 2008 at Fort Hamilton Hospital.
Helen E. Burns and her sister, Margaret, were born on a farm in Birch Run, Mi. on January 19, 1921, the daughters of Michael and Mary Burns (Mears). The family soon moved to Mt. Morris, Mi. near Flint where her father worked for General Motors and the village of Mt. Morris as its Chief of Police. Her mother taught school in Birch Run and Mt. Morris.
Helen was educated in St. Mary's school in Mt. Morris, Mi. and worked at the A.C. Spark Plug plant in Flint after graduation. She has also worked as a nurses aide in Dearborn, Mi. and Mercy Hospital in Hamilton, Oh. Finally, she assisted in counseling at the Alcoholic Detoxification Center until she retired in 1978.
She was married to Fred A. Globig in 1946 when he returned from military service in World War II. They moved to Hamilton in 1965.
Helen was preceded in death by her parents, sisters, Catherine Seeley (Ronald), Mary Newman (Ferris), and brother Edward. Her twin sister, Margaret, passed away recently in Jackson, MI.
Helen is survived by her husband, Fred, and four children. Philip Globig and wife, Sharon of Grand Rapids, Mi., Judith Campbell and her husband Brian, Mark Globig and his wife, Terre', of Hamilton and James Globig and his wife Maureen of Dayton, Oh.
She leaves 13 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren that were cherished with all her heart. She will be greatly missed by her children, nieces and nephews and many friends.
Helen was a member of St. Julie Billiart parish and proud of her devotion to her faith.

Friends are invited to attend Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00am Monday in St. Julie Billiart Church with Fr. Michael Pucke Officiating. Visitation will be from 3-5:00 pm Sunday at the Zettler Funeral Home, 2646 Pleasant Ave, and 9:30-10:00 am Monday at the Church. Burial will be in St. Aloysius Cemetery.
