WENDT, Herbert Horst Günther age 77 of Fairfield died Friday, June 03, 2011, at Mercy Hospital in Fairfield. He was born in Wusterhanse, Germany on December 4, 1933, the son of Otto K. and Erna F. (Giese) Wendt. Herb retired as a tool and die maker from The Hamilton Tool Company after 43 years of service. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, The Liberty Home Association (Deutscher Hausverein), Edelweiss Sports Club, and a long time member of the Hamilton YMCA Health Center.

He is survived by his wife Thelma "June"; two daughters, Becky (Rocky) Crawford and Barb (Roy) Payne; a sister, Marga (Reinhard) Goettsche; and he was "Opa" to his grandchildren, Caden Stone Crawford and Finley Shaye Payne.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Christa Rice.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 am Monday in the Zettler Funeral Home, 2646 Pleasant Ave. with Pastor Ron Rosenbalm officiating, followed by burial in Rose Hill Burial Park.
