Obituary

MAINOUS, Jack L. age 79, of Hamilton, passed away at home surrounded by his loved ones on Wednesday, January 25, 2017 after a short battle with acute leukemia.

Born to Earl and Rena Mae (Powell) Mainous, he came into this world on January 27, 1937. Jack graduated from Riley High School in 1955 and attended Tusculum College on a basketball scholarship.
He married the love of his life and best friend, Barbara (Shannon) Mainous, on October 5, 1957 at St. Mary's Church in Hamilton. They enjoyed 59 wonderful years of love and laughter. Known for his quick wit and humor, Jack was always the life of the party when he got together with his 1955 classmates from Reily High School and when playing cards with the Cruise Group. He was an Elder and Deacon at Westwood Presbyterian Church, Sawduster with the Hamilton Mini Circus and enjoyed playing Volleyball and Golf. Jack's professional career included 23 years as a senior buyer for Hamilton Tool.

Surviving are his wife, Barbara; daughters Becky (Gary) Fraley, Cathy (Todd) Chilton, Diane (Tim) Reed, Annette (Sam) Peters; grandchildren Allison, Andrea, Kristen, Shannon, Kaitlen, Josh, Kendall, Jimmy; great grandchildren Alyssa, Rylee, Frannie, Jaylah, Brynn, Luka and Raegan; step-grandchildren Jamie and Jenilee; step-great-grandchild Kiley; siblings Buddy (Donna) Mainous, George (Jackie) Mainous, Linda (Wally) Getz as well as extended family and friends who will always remember and appreciate his friendship and sense of humor.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister Mary Jean Paproski and grandson Aaron Fraley.

Visitation will be held on Friday, January 27, 2017 at Zettler Funeral Home, 2646 Pleasant Avenue. from 5:30pm - 8:00pm. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 28, 2017 at Westwood Presbyterian Church, 1068 Stahlheber Road, Hamilton, OH 45013 at 10am. Burial will follow funeral services at St. Stephens Cemetery.
The family would like to thank their friends at Fresenius Kidney Care and Hospice of Cincinnati for their exceptional care, support and compassion.
