Jack R. Watkins age 74 of Ghent, Kentucky passed away Saturday May 2, 2026 in Huntington, West Virginia. He was born in Cincinnati, Ohio on November 27, 1951 the son of Jack and Doris (Turner) Watkins. On December 18, 1976 he married Jane Ann Hensler and she preceded him in death on October 15, 2025.

Jack served in the US Army and was a retired Postal Worker, retiring after 32 years of service. Jack was a member of E.T Carson Masonic lodge in Cincinnati, he also held memberships with Cincinnati Scottish Rite and Syrian Shrine. Jack generously donated his time transporting children for the Shrine Hospital along with participating in Shriners parades, along with many other functions within these organizations.

Jack was extremely proud of his 6 children, 9 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Jack spent his retirement years dedicated to his family, traveling with his loving wife Jane and his passion for motorcycles.

Survivors include his children, Virginia A. (Jeff) Somann, Joseph B. (Lynn) Watkins, Tina (Tony) Irwin, Jack R. Watkins Jr., Paul J. Watkins, and Jeanette (Adam) Freeman; nine grandchildren; two great grandchildren; three brothers, Dallas, Ronald, and Daniel Watkins.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00am Monday May 11, 2026 in the Zettler Funeral Home 2646 Pleasant Ave, followed by entombment in Butler County Memorial Park Mausoleum, with Military Honors.
