CONRADT, James Carl Age 89, died May 26, 2012. Jim was born in Hamilton on August 23, 1922, the son of Carl J. Conradt and Adele Paxton Conradt and graduated from Hamilton Catholic High School in 1940. He then served in the US Navy 3 ½ years aboard the USS Battleship Texas during World War II including the invasion of Normandy and the Pacific Theater. Returning to Hamilton, he worked for Carl J. Conradt General Contractors and attended U.C. night school. On August 8, 1947, Jim married Georgann Ernst in St. Mary's Church. Jim and Georgann loved to travel, camp, & play cards. In 1954, Jim started L&J Specialty Corp. and manufactured lighted handrail which was sold worldwide. He was a 4th Degree Knight of Columbus member and a member of V.F.W. He was a lifelong member of Saint Peter in Chains Church.
Survivors includes his wife of 64 years, Georgann; his daughter Mary Ellen; son, Charles (Barbara); Grandsons, Matthew (Becky), Carl and Doug Conradt; Great Grandsons, Jacob and Andrew Conradt; A sister in law, Mary Ann Conradt; Nieces, Anne Wilson and Mary Jo Francis; Nephews, Bill, Patrick and Jim Moeller.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Tom and Jack Conradt, a sister Mary Adele; son in law, Bill Spillane; brother-in-law, Bill Moeller.
