Obituary

JANSSEN, James L. age 64 of Hamilton passed away Friday June 30, 2017 at Bethesda North Hospital following a brave battle with cancer. He was born in Cincinnati, Ohio on December 16, 1952 the son of Clyde and June (Duschinski) Janssen. On July 5, 1974 in Hamilton, Ohio he married his childhood sweetheart, Anette Lynn Beuerlein. Jim was a vibrant ball of energy, an elaborate story-teller who never met a stranger. He was exceedingly loyal and unmistakably honest. He loved his family and children with a vengeance; his dear wife of almost 43 years was his soulmate and very best friend. His favorite past time was boating because he loved the beauty of the lake and it's ability to create countless family memories. He planned to retire at his second home, Lake Cumberland. He was an entrepreneur who took great pride in the fitness businesses he built and grew, and cherished the brotherhood he had at Exercise & Leisure, where he spent the last years of his career. Throughout his cancer battle, he remained unshakingly brave and positive; cracking jokes with his son, dancing with his daughter and holding his loving wife's hand. He always let everyone know exactly how much he valued them. He was eternally grateful for each of the nurses that cared for him at Bethesda North Hospital, especially the incredible team on the 5th floor. On June 25, 2017, Jim became a baptized Catholic. He was loved by so many and will be missed dearly, but his spirit and positivity will live on in the hearts of his family.

Survivors include his wife, Anette; two children, Kelly Ann Janssen (Connor Creevey) of Westfield, Indiana; a son, James L. Janssen Jr. of Cincinnati, Ohio; a sister, Joy (Jack) Quick and many beloved nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers Jack and Jerry Janssen.
