ORTOLF, Jeanette (Janet) Pater, age 91 of Hamilton, Ohio was called home to be with her Heavenly Father on December 4, 2017 at her residence. She was born in Hamilton, Ohio on May 19, 1926, the daughter of Charles and Cleo (Mott) Pater. On May 23, 1946 in Hamilton, Ohio she married Paul Ortolf and he preceded her in death on March 1, 2014. In her youth, Janet enjoyed dancing, roller skating and teaching tap dance. In her later years, she enjoyed gardening, knitting, shopping with her sisters and collecting crystal birds and clowns.

Janet attended Zimmers Business College and worked numerous jobs including General Electric, McKesson & Robbins and Bel-Tone. Religious affiliations include First Church of God and Tri-County Assembly. Recently she enjoyed David Jeremiah and Joel Osteen.

Beloved mother of Darcey (Chera) Ortolf of NYC, NY and Donna (James) Scowden and granddaughter Katie (Sam) Farmer and great granddaughter, Delaney Grace Farmer, all of Sylvania, Ohio.

Cherished by special friend, Karen Metcalf, devoted niece Gerry (Hobart) Saylor and beloved sister-in-law Charma Ortolf. Preceded in death by grandson, Matthew J. Scowden and all five siblings and their spouses: Hazel (John) Coleman, Loraine (Ernie) Sweet, James (Wanda) Pater, Raymond (Jean) Pater and Wanda (Jim) Gadd.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00pm Thursday in the Zettler Funeral Home, 2646 Pleasant Ave. followed by burial in Rose Hill Burial Park. Visitation will be from 12:00noon-1:00pm Thursday in the funeral home. Online register book available at www.zettlerfuneralhome.com
