IMFELD, Joan M. age 83 of Hamilton died Wednesday, March 20, 2013, at the University Hospital in Cincinnati. She was born in Hamilton, Ohio on September 2, 1929, the daughter of Edwin and Alberta (Herre) Schawe, and was a 1947 graduate of Notre Dame High School. On December 2, 1950, in St. Joseph Church she married Bert C. Imfeld. Mrs. Imfeld worked as a secretary for Champion Paper Co. prior to raising her family. She was a member of St. Joseph Church, a longtime member and past president of the Exchangettes, and was a member of the Butler County Bar Association Auxiliary. Joan was an avid bridge player and participated in many card clubs. Love of family came first and she adored her grandchildren whom she spoiled with affection and cookies.

Survivors include her husband, Bert; three children, Jennifer (Mark) Duerinck of Naperville, IL, Lori (Gary) Becker and Marcia (Ron) Ellis, both of Fairfield, Ohio; eight grandchildren, Caitlin, Courtney, and Michael Duerinck, Tara and Maria Becker, Patrick, Ryan, and Caroline Ellis; a sister, Nancy (Tom) Fischer of Hamilton; brothers and sisters-in-law, Mary Jo Schawe, Ann Milligan, Betty Imfeld, Eileen and Pete Donahue, Joann Imfeld, James and Maureen Imfeld.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Mary Joan, at birth, and a brother, Richard Schawe.

Prayers will be offered at 10:30 am Saturday in the Zettler Funeral Home, 2646 Pleasant Ave. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am Saturday in St. Joseph Church. Entombment will be in St. Stephen Mausoleum. Visitation will be from 5-7:00 pm Friday in the funeral home.
