HEILINGER, John A. age 91 of Hamilton, died Friday, June 12, 2009 in Ft. Hamilton Hospital. He was born in Fairfield TWP, Ohio on May 9, 1918 the son of John and Flora (Weyl) Heilinger. On November 14, 1946 in Hamilton, Ohio he married Jean Goodchild and she preceded him in death on October 27, 2006. Mr. Heilinger was a veteran of US Army Air Corp during WWII, serving for three years in the in the European theater, as a crew chief engineer. He had worked in shipping and receiving and later as a purchasing agent for Krauth and Benninghofen Co., for forty-five years. He also worked for Hamilton Stands Inc., for eleven years, retiring in 1993. A member of the VFW # 1069, he also was past adjutant and a member of the Military Order of the Cooties. He had been a board member of RADD and was involved in various support groups for MRDD.
Survivors include his son, Barry Heilinger, of Middletown, Ohio; a nephew, Elven (Lea) Sims, of British Columbia; and many friends.
Besides his wife, he was also preceded in death by a sister, Adeline Heilinger, in 1991.
Visitation will be from 5-7pm Tuesday June 16, 2009 in the Zettler Funeral Home, 2646 Pleasant Ave. Funeral services will be held one week later, Tuesday June 23, 2009 at 2:00pm in the funeral home.
