BUCKLEY, Joseph A. age 85 passed away Saturday January 23, 2016 at the Sanctuary Pointe Nursing and Rehab Center. He was born in Chelsea, Massachusetts on December 9, 1930 the son of William and Beatrice (Perry) Buckley. On December 13, 1951 in Chelsea, Massachusetts he married Natalie Bossie and she preceded him in death on February 28, 2010. Mr. Buckley was veteran of the US Army serving during the Korean War. He had worked as a shoe pattern engineer for US Shoe for ten years, worked for the Salvation Army and later had a home remodeling business. In his youth he had been an amateur boxer, once sparring with Joe Louis, and enjoyed exercise and body building.

Survivors include three children; Joseph (Wanda) Buckley of Cincinnati, Steve Buckley of Cincinnati and Robert (Amy) Buckley of Lake Tahoe, Nevada; two grandchildren, Samantha Anderson and McKenna Buckley; four great grandchildren, Gavin, Grace, Grant and Gannon Anderson.

Besides his wife he was also preceded in death by a son, Dave Buckley in 1990 and three brothers, Bill, John, and Robert Buckley.

Prayers will be offered at 10:30am Wednesday in the Zettler Funeral Home, 2646 Pleasant Ave. followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00am Wednesday in Sacred Heart Church with Fr. Larry Tharp celebrant. Visitation will be from 9:30-10:30am Wednesday in the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to Hospice of Cincinnati.
