Obituary

GAYNOR, Joseph P. "Joe", age 76 of Hamilton, died Wednesday, July 5, 2006 in Vitas Hospice in Ft. Hamilton, after a long battle with cancer. He was born in Philadelphia, PA on February 7, 1930, the son of James Edward and Mary B. (Dever) Gaynor. He earned a Masters Degree in Business Administration from Xavier University. He served in the US Army during the Korean War. On February 20, 1960, in St. Ann Church, he married Mary Ann Hillman. Mr. Gaynor was an Underwriting Manager and Assistant Secretary, for Ohio Casualty Insurance Co., being employed there, over thirty-five years, retiring in 1993. A member of St. Peter in Chains Church, he also was a member of the St. Vincent DePaul Society and the K of C Father Butler Council.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Ann; three children, Patrick (Cecilia) Gaynor, of Ashland, KY, Susan (Dwayne) Gray, of Ft. Wayne, Indiana, and Daniel (Jennifer) Gaynor, of West Chester, OH; nine grandchildren, Philip and Erik Gaynor, Allison, Peter, Andrew, and Kate Gray, Kayla, Sara, and Maria Gaynor; two sisters, Patricia M. and Mary Ellen Gaynor; numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, James F. and Edward T. Gaynor.

Prayers will be offered at 10:30 AM Monday in the Zettler Funeral Home, 2646 Pleasant Ave., followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM Monday in St. Peter in Chains church. Visitation will be from 3-5:00PM Sunday in the funeral home. Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to St. Peter Church or Badin High School Scholarship Fund.
