SCHWARTZ, Joseph E. age 76 of Fairfield died Thursday, October 30, 2008 at Mercy Hospital of Fairfield. He was born on January 17, 1932, the son of Emil and Elizabeth (Puckett) Schwartz and was a 1951 graduate of Hamilton Catholic High School. On June 22, 1957, in St. Ann Church, he married Dolores H. Drury. Mr. Schwartz served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was a fifty-one year member of Sacred Heart Church and devoted usher, a member of Knights of Columbus Father Butler Council, and VFW # 1069. He had worked at Fernald, and retired from Beckett Paper Co. after 30 years of service and was currently employed by Jungle Jim's market.

Survivors include his wife Dolores; three children, Kathy (Steve) Mayes; Marian (Terry) Fritz; Mark (Amy) Schwartz, all of Hamilton; five grandchildren, David (Ashley) Mayes; Anthony and Amy Fritz; Ryan and Dylan Schwartz; one great-grandchild, Madilynn Mayes; a brother, George (Dolores) Schwartz.

Prayers will be offered at 9:30 am Wednesday in the Zettler Funeral Home, 2646 Pleasant Ave., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am Wednesday in Sacred Heart Church. Visitation will be from 5-7:00 pm Tuesday in the Funeral Home. Burial will be in St. Mary cemetery. Memorials are suggested to Sacred Heart Church Building Fund.
