TOERNER, Joseph C. age 50 of Fairfield, died Sunday evening, August 15, 2010 in Hospice of Hamilton. He was born in Hamilton, Ohio on March 19, 1960 the son of Robert and Eileen (Hampel) Toerner. Joe attended St. Ann School, graduated from Badin High School in 1978 and had attended Miami University. On April 4, 1987 in Guardian Angels Church, Cincinnati, Ohio, he married Lori Leyritz.
He was a dedicated 30 year employee of the Coca-Cola Bottling Company.
He was a member of the Sacred Heart Church, the K Of C Father Butler Council, and the Big Forty Club. An avid sportsman, Joe enjoyed bowling, golf and fishing as well as coaching his sons in select baseball teams and Sacred Heart basketball teams. He was an Ohio High School certified basketball official for over twenty years and enjoyed watching any Badin High School sports contest. He especially enjoyed being the director of "The Happy Hour Fridays" at J.B.G.
The family wishes to express their sincere thanks to all the caregivers and good friends who lent their support during Joe's illness.
Survivors include his wife, Lori; two sons, Zach and Matt Toerner, his Mother, Eileen Toerner; five brothers and sisters, Dan (Nancy) Toerner, Janet (Tom) Huff, John (Andrea) Toerner, Carol Brockman, and Bob (Barb) Toerner.
He was preceded in death by his father, Robert L. Toerner on February 17, 2000.
Friends are invited to attend Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00am Friday in Sacred Heart Church, 400 Nilles Rd. Fairfield, Ohio 45014, with Fr. Larry Tharp celebrant, followed by burial in St. Mary Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-8:00pm Thursday in the Badin Pfirman Family Activity Center.
