Julianna S.
Fisher
August 10, 1925 – August 1, 2018
FISHER, Julianna Schobin, age 92 of Hamilton, died on Wednesday, August 1, 2018 at Westover Retirement Community. She was born in Hamilton, Ohio on August 10, 1925, the daughter of Michael J. and Helen (Moran) Schobin. On December 31, 1947, in St. Stephen Church, she married the love of her life, Joseph J. Fisher, and they were blessed with 61 beautiful years together. They both enjoyed dancing and traveling throughout the United States, Canada and Mexico.
Julia was graduated from Notre Dame High School and Mercy Hospital School of Nursing. She was a Cadet Nurse during WWII, then began her career as a Registered Nurse in Public Health. She spent many years working at Mercy Hospital in Hamilton and also for Dr. Miles Vance. Later in life, she also became a licensed Cosmetologist.
Julia was a devoted member of St. Joseph Church where she sang in the choir and was a lay distributor. She loved playing cards and started several Bridge clubs. She also enjoyed swimming at the YWCA. Julia had a life-long love of music which she passed on to her children and grandchildren. She sang with her father's and brother's bands as a young woman, and continued entertaining people into her late 80's at Westover in their talent shows. She also played both the piano and violin.
Julie loved her family with all her heart and that love was returned in kind. She was a generous, friendly, caring woman who always put the needs of others before hers. Her Irish heritage sparkled in her spirited and independent nature. She will be missed more than words can express by her family and many friends but her love will carry on in our cherished memories.
